The 134th Canton Fair, also known as the **China Import and Export Fair**, is scheduled to open in Autumn 2023 at the Guangzhou Canton Fair Complex¹. This biannual event, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of PRC and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and organized by China Foreign Trade Centre, has been a significant channel for China’s foreign trade and a window of China’s opening up.
The fair is divided into three phases. Phase 1, from October 15-19, will showcase household electrical appliances, consumer electronics and information products, electronic and electrical products, lighting equipment, new energy resources, new materials and chemical products, hardware, tools, machining machinery and equipment, power and electrical equipment, general machinery and mechanical parts, industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, new energy vehicles and smart mobility, motorcycles, bicycles, vehicle spare parts, vehicles.
Phase 2 will run from October 23-27. It will feature building and decoration materials, sanitary and bathroom equipment, furniture, kitchen and tableware, daily-use ceramics, household items, clocks, watches and optical instrument, gifts and premiums, festival products, home decorations, art ceramics, glass artware, gardening products, woven rattan and iron products.
Phase 3 will be from October 31 to November 4. It will display personal care appliances, bathroom products, medicines health products and medical devices pet products maternity and baby products toys children’s clothing men’s and women’s clothing sportswear casual wear underwear fur leather down related products clothing accessories fittings home textiles textile raw materials fabrics carpets tapestries shoes office supplies bags suitcases sports tourism leisure products food rural revitalization.
The Canton Fair has been a pinnacle of international trade events since its establishment in 1957. It boasts an impressive history and staggering scale. Exhibiting a vast array of products it attracts buyers from all over the world². The 133rd Canton Fair attracted overseas buyers from 229 countries and regions including 129006 who attended onsite and 390574 online.
The accumulated export volume has amounted to about USD 1.5 trillion and the total number of overseas buyers attending the Canton Fair onsite and online has exceeded 10 million⁵. The fair has effectively promoted trade connections and friendly exchanges between China and the world.
